Today was the big day for our family. Fall time clean up and prepping for winter. And it took ALL day. First thing in the morning I started with the motivating speeches while I cooked breakfast. My kids know I up their allowance when big clean days happen. We cleaned the messes, stored the toys, kayaks, fishing poles & camping gear. We made an enormous pile to head to the dump, mowed the lawn one last time and pressure washed the roof. Then, after a grueling day, I headed to the store to grab an easy dinner for my hubby and toddler and then headed to a friends place who was frantically packing her house to move to Canada. Holy moly, she had one day left and was not even close to ready. My sister and I stayed there helping till 10PM before heading home. But once home, we discovered that the dogs had found an old salmon carcass across the street and rolled in it. So we had to give them baths. Both of them. And it took a LOT of shampoo to wash away that smell. At 11PM I thought that I could finally sit down for the night, but instead, my toddler woke and had peed her pants. I got her cleaned up and snuggled back in a clean bed and now sit working on my hobby blog. This is my life. . I can't remember the last time that I had a night without a kiddos waking me up with for one reason or another. Every night I endure interrupted sleep and extra snuggling children in our bed. They melt into the folds of my body like a part that was always there. My heart melts and I hold them close. These are the moments that recharge my heart and give it strength to endure. Despite the struggles of the day, we will endure and conquer . And rise like the sun for another adventurous day.
